Men's Golf in 12th Place at Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. – The Akron men's golf team, led by Cameron Simmons and Tim Lew, are in 12th place after the second round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday.
Both Simmons and Lew are tied for 22nd place after posting 36-hole scores of 6-over 146. Simmons finished the day with back-to-back rounds of 3-over 73 while Lew posted scores of 74 (+4) and 72 (+2).
The Zips finished the day with a total of 592 (+32) following rounds of 299 and 293. South Carolina and Virginia finished the first day in a tie for the lead at 10-over 570.
Charlie Bull rebounded after a slow start to the day, carding a team-best score of 1-over 71 to finish tied for 42nd place (148 (+8). He had opened the day with a round of 7-over 77.
Harry Whittle recorded rounds of 75 (+5) and 78 (+8) and enters the final round tied for 71st place at 13-over 153. Ryan Mason closed out the scoring five in a tie for 77th place at 154 (+14) after identical rounds of 77 (+7).
The Zips will conclude the event tomorrow morning with tee times beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET.
