Men's Golf Finishes 13th at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – The Akron Zips closed the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate with a final-round 303 (+15) to finish in 13th place on Tuesday at the par-72, 7,051-yard Magnolia Grove Falls Golf Course.
Akron finished with a three-round score of 36-over 900. Middle Tennessee won the event with a three-round score of 858 (-6).
Charlie Bull led the way for Akron, finishing tied for 29th place with a tournament-score of 221 (+5) after his final round of 74 (+2). The finish snapped his streak of top-25 finishes at eight. Tim Lew carded the top round of the day for the Zips, posting a score of 1-over 73 to finish tied for 50th place (225, +9).
After finishing day one with a second-round 73 (+1), Scott Landreth concluded the week in a tie for 64th place (229, +13) after his round of 7-over 79 on the day. Cameron Simmons closed out the event at 14-over 230, good for a tie for 67th place, after carding a round of 5-over 77 on Tuesday.
Ryan Mason rounded out the squad in a tie for 70th place with a three-round tally of 231 (+15). He carded an 8-over 80 during the final round.
The Zips will take a week off before returning to action on March 5 when they travel to Aiken, S.C., for the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
