Men's Golf in 12th Place at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. – The Akron Zips finished day one of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in 12th place on Monday at the par-72, 7,051-yard Magnolia Grove Falls Golf Course.
The Zips posted rounds of 13-over 301 and 8-over 296 to finish the day with a 36-hole score of 21-over 597. Middle Tennessee holds the lead after two rounds with a tally of 6-under 570.
Charlie Bull led the way for Akron, carding rounds of 74 (+2) and 73 (+1) to finish tied for 24th place with a two-round score of 3-over 147. After posting a first-round 77 (+5), Scott Landreth rebounded during round two, carding a 73 (+1) to finish in a tie for 47th (150, +6).
Ryan Mason posted rounds of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4) on the day and will go into the final round in a tie for 52nd place at 151 (+7). Tim Lew is tied for 58th place with a two-round total of 152 (+8) after shooting rounds of 75 (+3) and 77 (+5).
Cameron Simmons finished the day tied for 62nd place at 9-over 153. He followed his first-round 79 (+7) with a 2-over 74.
The Zips look to climb the leaderboard tomorrow during the final round of the event. Tuesday's final round will tee off at 9 a.m. on the first and 10th holes.
