Golf World 50 Women's College Players to Watch Complete List
AKRON, Ohio – Current University of Akron senior golfer Kristen Hill was named to the Golf World 50 Women's College Players to Watch list for the 2011-12 season by Campus Insider blogger Ryan Herrington.
Hill is the only student-athlete from the Mid-American Conference to appear on the list and is the only golfer competing for a school in the state of Ohio.
"Looking at the names on this list, it is an honor for her to be a part of this," Akron head coach Jenny King said. "A number of the players on this list can go pro at any moment. Kristen should be very proud to be a part of this list after all the hard work she has put in over the last three years."
Hill enters her senior campaign as the program's top golfer, holding 12 school records including career scoring average (76.27), career wins (3), season scoring average (75.21) and career top-10 finishes (14), among others.
Last season, Hill placed in the top-25 in all 11 events, including eight-straight top-five finishes and is riding a current streak of 25 rounds in the 70s. Hill is a two-time first-team All-MAC selection (2010, 2011) and was named second-team All-MAC as a freshman (2009).
Hill and the Zips open the 2011-12 campaign next week when they travel to Lincoln, Neb., for the Nebraska Chip-N Club Invitational on Sept. 12-13.
