Hill Claims MAC Golfer of the Week Honors Again

After capturing her second individual title in three events,
University of Akron sophomore Kristen Hill was named
Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week Thursday, the league
office announced.
It is the fourth time Hill, an All-MAC Second Team honoree in
2008-09, has earned league honors during her standout, two-year
career.
Hill, a native of Weston, Fla., posted rounds of 73-70-72 to finish
1-under-par 215 and win medalist honors at the Canes and Cardinal
Classic at Don Shula's Country Club last Tuesday. Hill, who opened
the final round with a four-stroke lead, held off Maryland's
Christine Shimel to claim her second win of the spring season.
In all, it was the third win of Hill's career. Her second-round
score (70) matched a career best and is a season low. It also was
the third time she recorded a sub-par round overall.
Due to injuries, the Zips will not compete in this weekend's
Eastern Kentucky Lady Colonel Classic as originally scheduled.
Instead, UA will wrap up the spring season at the MAC Championships
at Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers, Ind., from Apr.
23-25.
