Baseball Starts Fall World Series Monday

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron baseball team will begin its annual Blue-Gold Fall World Series on Monday at Lee Jackson Field at approximately 2:15pm. Students, fans, and friends of the program are encouraged to attend the free series.

The best-of-five series will pit the 2008-09 Akron baseball team against itself for the lone series this fall season. Games will start at approximately 2:15pm and will be held at Lee Jackson Field with the exception of Wednesday's contest. The Zips will transfer play to local Canal Park, home of the Akron Aeros for Wednesday's game which is scheduled with a 5pm start.

Following tradition, the winners of the series will be treated to steaks while the losers will eat hot dogs.
