Snow Stops Round Two; Zips Rest in Third

- On day one of the Marshall Invitational snow fall prevented
the 16-team field to get through the scheduled two rounds of golf,
but Zips were not bothered by the weather in round one as they
finished tied for third with 290 strokes.
Brad Wright led Akron with
a 1-under 71 as he rests tied for 10th after 18-holes of golf.
Seniors Blake Sattler and Ryan
Culbertson each carded in even par-72s on the 6,476 yard Guyan
course to sit in a 14th-place tie.
Ryan Gutowski tallied 37
strokes on the front-nine and followed with 38 more on the back
half of the course - finishing tied for 47th with 75 swings. Matt
Considine rounded out the Zips scorecard with 78 (36-42)
strokes over one round.
UA is tied with Marquette, Marshall and Eastern Michigan for the
third spot. Ball State is atop the leader board with a mark of 282,
followed by Penn State with 285.
If weather permits, the field will look to complete the remaining
four holes of round two tomorrow morning with the final 18 holes of
golf to follow.
