as a sophomore (Spring 2004): Competed in allseven tournaments...Zips’ top finisher in fourevents...earned second-team All-MAC honors after finishing tied for30th at the MAC Championship...had three top-20 finishes...tied forsixth at the Marshall Invitational (April 9-10) with a 2 under-par,214 (72-70-72)...tied for tenth place at the BirkdaleIntercollegiate (March 13-14) after shooting 226(75-76-75)...finished tied for 12th place at the El DiabloIntercollegiate with 226 (71-79-76)...shot a 222 at the FirstEnergy Intercollegiate (April 24-25) to finish tied for 27thplace...led the team with a 75.24 stroke average...during thesummer, he lost in the second round of the North-South Invitationalat Pinehurst after shooting 72, 69...shot rounds of 68, 68, 69, 73at the 2004 Ohio Pub-links Championship over the summer.
as a sophomore (Fall 2003): Participated in allfive tournaments and was the Zips’ top performer in three ofthose events ... posted a team-best 73.17 strokes-per-round average... collected his first collegiate victory in the rain-shortenedFairway Club Invitational (Sept. 8-9), the opening tournament ofthe season ... posted a 36-hole score of 1-under 141, including athen career-low 69 in the second round, and tied for the top spot... his co-championship was the first individual title for aZips’ golfer since Greg Boyette finished first at theCleveland Energy Resources Invitational (April 28-29, 1996) ...posted two more top-20 finishes ... registered a tie for 15th-placeat the Northern Collegiate (Sept. 20-21) with a 54-hole tally of5-over-par 218 (72-72-74) ... finished tied for 19th at the XavierInvitational (Oct. 13-14) with a 36-hole total of even-under-par142 (72-70).
as a Freshman (Spring 2003): Competed in all seventournaments...earned the first top-20 finish of his career at theKent State FirstEnergy Intercollegiate (April 19-20) with athree-round score of 220 (74-73-73) which tied for 20th...ended theseason at the MAC Championship with a four-round 311 (83-71-73-84)tying for 28th place...finished the spring with a 76.85shots-per-round average...qualified for match play at the 2003 U.S.Amateur, but lost in the first round...fired a 7-over-par 147(75-72) during the two rounds of medal play at Oakmont Country Clubin Pittsburgh...qualified for the U.S. Amateur by sinking a 30-footbirdie putt on the second playoff hole in sectional qualifying atMound Builders Country Club in Newark, Ohio, defeating three otherplayers to claim the third and final qualifying spot for play atOakmont.
