Women's Soccer Ties Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. Akron played Eastern Michigan to a double-overtime scoreless tie on Friday in a Mid-American Conference women's soccer match at Scicluna Field under cold and breezy conditions. UA, which tallied its second scoreless tie in three matches, moved to 6-3-4 (1-2-2 MAC) while EMU changed its record to 4-5-3 (2-2-1).
Zips senior goalkeeper Krystin Wilson recorded her sixth shutout
of the season and 17th of her career, extending the school's career
record in that category which she set last season with 11
blankings. Eagles freshman 'keeper Maggie Manville notched her
fourth career shutout. Wilson was credited with eight saves and
Manville with four.
EMU held the shots on goal edge, recording eight out of a total 13 shots taken, while UA managed four shots on goal out of seven total shots. The Eagles defense held the Zips without a shot on goal during both overtime periods, while their offense was able to get off three shots on goal during the extra session.
Akron travels to Central Michigan on Sunday for a 2 p.m. EDT match-up.
