AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer team embarks on a competitive spring schedule the first weekend of April, when it travels to Fayetteville, N.C., to compete in the Cup of Life tournament at Methodist College.
The Zips' spring workout schedule also features an appearance in the Border Challenge Showcase at Pacesetter Park in Toledo on April 8, as well as playing host to their own tournament, the Blue and Gold Invite, at Lee Jackson Field on April 22.
On April 23 at 2:30 p.m. EDT UA will hold its annual Alumni Game at Lee Jackson Field.
The Zips open the 2006 season with exhibition play on Aug. 17 and 19 in the second-annual Westfield Insurance Cup. UA's regular season begins on Aug. 25 when it takes on The Citadel in the opening round of the Caroline Pardee Invitational at Lee Jackson Field.
