Women's Soccer Loses To Eastern Washington

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Akron women's soccer team lost to Eastern Washington 2-0 Friday in the Nike Classic at UNM Soccer Complex on the University of New Mexico campus.
Both EWU (1-2-0) goals came early in the first half, the first at 7:26 and the second at 21:38. The Eagles held a slight edge in shots, 10-9, but tallied seven shots on goal compared to three by the Zips.
Akron (1-1-1) sophomore goalkeeper Krystin Wilson (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson HS) was credited with the loss and allowed both goals, the first to be scored on UA this season. Wilson made five saves in 85 minutes of work. Zips senior `keeper Lauren Graff (Westerville, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales HS) logged five minutes and did not record any statistics.
Eagles' goalkeeper Tiera Como earned the win and made three saves while going the distance.
The Zips return to action Sunday at 1 p.m. ET when they face Alabama in the Nike Classic.
