Ken Pryor was a four-year letterwinner for the men’s soccer team, competing for Akron during the 1987-91 seasons. He played in all 21 matches as a freshman, including 13 starts, and scored his first collegiate goal against Wisconsin-Milwaukee as UA compiled a 12-6-3 record.
As a sophomore, he started in only seven of the 17 contests in which he saw action; however, Pryor did score two goals and had two assists during UA’s 12-5-3 campaign. He sat out the 1989 season to concentrate on his studies, and came back to start in 37 of 38 games his last two years.
In 1990, he earned First-Team All-Mid Continent Conference honors after he paced UA in scoring, with 10 goals and five assists as the team compiled a 13-5-1 mark. Pryor topped off his career in 1991 by helping the squad win the MCC title during a 12-6-1 season and earned the MCC’s Player of Year Award after scoring eight goals and assisting on three others.
After his time at UA, he played professional indoor soccer for the Canton Invaders of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) and Pittsburgh Stingers of the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL).
