Samson Albert

Samson Albert joined the Akron men's basketball program prior to the 2025-26 season.

Prior to Akron, Albert interned with Priority Sports Agency during their 2025 Spring Pre-Draft training program where he assisted in developing and preparing players, such as Kon Kneupple, Ryan Kalkbrenner, John Tonje, and Caleb Love for the NBA combine and pre-draft workouts with NBA teams and helped build their draft stock. He also worked with established NBA players including Keegan Murray, Max Strus, Mason Plumlee and Herb Jones. He also assisted Cleveland Charge 2024-25 head coach, Chris Darnell and staff during their open tryoutÂ
Albert served as the assistant coach at Shaker Heights HS where he focused on player development and game analytics. As a No.17 seed in the state tournament, Shaker Heights succeeded as Div. 2 District champions and elite eight finalists in the 2024-25 season.Â
A graduate from the University of Akron in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and a minor in professional sales and a certificate in entrepreneurship, Albert was active on campus with the founding of a student organization within the college of business called the African American business association.
A former collegiate player at Baldwin Wallace University, he played from 2019-2022.
He is also a 2019 graduate of Revere HS. Playing four years, he helped lift the program to its only district championship in school history.
