A graduate of the University of Michigan, Van Remortel spent four seasons with the Wolverines and played in 106 career games.Â
In his four seasons, he hit .264 with 70 hits and seven home runs. He played in 52 games in his final season and was third on the team in home runs. Van Remortel helped the Wolverines with a walk-off home run against Central Michigan in 2023. He also spent one season Umpqua Community College where he played in all 37 games for the team and led Umpqua in most batting categories.Â
