Playing primarily at the No. 4 spot in the lineup, she won 13 of her last 15 singles matches of the year, including a streak of six consecutive victories, and was 6-2 against MAC opponents. She finished her three-year career at Akron with a combined singles record of 82-27, ranking 14th all-time in the program for career wins.
Berestetska earned MAC Singles Player of the Week honors on Feb. 26, 2014, after picking up two victories at the No. 5 spot against Portland State and Oregon. She was also named the team's Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of the season.
A transfer from Stephen F. Austin State University, Berestetska joined the Zips in the fall of 2011. In 2012, Ksenia and her teammates won the Mid-American Conference tournament and participated in the NCAA Championship. Â
