Michael enters his first season as assistant swimming coach at Akron.
He arrived at Akron from New Mexico where he was an assistant and later elevated to the interim head coach for the 2022-23 season. During his time with the Lobos, he oversaw all aspects and functions of the swimming and diving program. The Lobos saw one swimmer make an NCAA B cut, set a school record, and compete in had multiple A-finals at Mountain West Conference meet.
Prior to New Mexico, he served as a volunteer assistant at Auburn under Ryan Wochomurka (2021-2022). With Tigers, he worked with both men’s and women’s teams while organizing recruiting weekends mixed with various coaching duties.Â
Michael is from El Paso, Texas held assistant and associate head coaching positions at El Paso Country Club from 2019-2021. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from University of Texas at El Paso in 2020. He currently resides in Akron, Ohio. Â
