as a Junior (2008-09): Was the recipient of the2009 Coaches’ Award following a stellar juniorseason…Picked up MAC Swimmer of the Week Honors for the weekof November 18 after tallying four individual victories andassisting the Akron relay team with an additional topfinish…Led by example all season long, logging 19 individualvictories also claiming seven top-three finishes on theyear…Helped the UA swim team to a third place finish overallat the Zippy Invitational with a fifth place finish in the 200-yardbutterfly, sixth place finish in the 500-yard freestyle and ninthplace mark in the 200-yard freestyle…Assisted the UA relayteam to 15 top five finishes, including six wins…Collinsswam on three school record setting relays at the Mid-AmericanConference Championships in 2009 as the 400-freestyle relay(3:25.44), 400-yard medley relay (3:44.85) and 800-yard freestylerelay (7:19.86) teams all set new standards at the meet…Hadsuccess as an individual competitor at MACs, scoring points in the500-yard freestyle with a fifth place finish also tapping in ateighth in the 200-yard butterfly and 11th in the 200-yardfreestyle, setting personal best marks in all three events.
