as a Senior (2010 Indoor):
- MAC Indoor heptathlon runner-up, scoring 5,114 points and earning second team All-MAC honors ... Posted a personal record of 22-04.50 in the long jump en route to the title.
- Named MAC Indoor Male Field Performer of the Week (Feb. 17) for winning the heptathlon at the Akron Invitational ... Posted an NCAA provisional point total of 5,353.
as a Junior (2009):
- NCAA All-American in the decathlon, placing 10th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a school-record 7,563 points ... While at the NCAA Outdoors, set or tied personal-records in the 100m, 1,500m, high jump, long jump.
- Was MAC Outdoor Champion in the decathlon and earned MAC's Outdoor Most Outstanding Field Performance in the process ... For the second time of 2009, he set a UA record with 7,445 points ... He made is charge on day two, going from third to first, by winning the discus and javelin, placing second in the 1,500 and placing third in the pole vault ... On day one on the decathlon, he won the shot put with a personal-record distance of 50-0.50 and out-distanced the field by 57 points in the event ... Also at the MAC Outdoors, placed fourth in the javelin (198-9) despite passing on his four throws in the event final as he was competing in the decathlon at the same time ... Placed 11th in the discus (134-0).
- Was MAC Indoor Champion in the heptathlon ... Scored an Akron-record 5,490 points, posting personal records in the 60m, 60m hurdles, high jump, long jump and shot put along the way ... His point total was an NCAA provisional mark, was the 18th-best point total in the NCAA for 2009 and he just missed an at-large berth to the NCAA Indoor Championships.
- Placed 11th in the decathlon at the USA National Championships ... Kinsey, fourth among the US collegians, scored 7,178 points over the two days despite a slow start, standing in 15th and last place after day one with 3,480 points ... On day two, he won the discus with a personal-record throw of 159-11, beating the next closest competitor by nine feet.
- His MAC Outdoor point total of 7,445 points was an NCAA provisional mark and he earned an NCAA berth due to having the 15th-best point total in the nation.
- Was named MAC Outdoor Male Field Performer of the Week (April 7) was named the Mid-American Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week, setting a UA record in the decathlon. Kinsey competed in the 82nd Annual Clyde LIttlefield Texas Relays, annually one of the top events in the nation. He placed second in the decathlon (the top Division I finisher), broke a 10-year-old school record with 7,385 points, 152 points better than the previous Akron record (7,233 points) set by Mike Slomovitz on May 2, 1999. In addition to setting a UA record, Kinsey provisionally qualifies for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and currently has the third-best decathlon point total in the NCAA. In setting the UA record, Kinsey posted personal-record times/marks in eight of the 10 events.
- Was named MAC Indoor Male Field Performer of the Week (Feb. 18) after he placed second in the heptathlon at the Akron Invitational with a then school-record 5,324 points ... Kinsey set a UA record, breaking a mark set in 1999, and posted an NCAA provisional mark in the process ... In the seven-event discipline, Kinsey won the shot put and placed second in the long jump, high jump and pole vault.
- Posted a personal-record throw of 200-07 in the javelin at the Jesse Owens Classic, standing as the fourth-best effort in UA history.
- Named team MVP for the outdoor season and was named a team captain.
as a Sophomore (2008):
- Was MAC Indoor Champion in the heptathlon (sharing the title with EMU's Brad Waidman). Scored 5,076 points at the meet for the fifth-best total in UA history.
- Scored in two events at the MAC Outdoor Championships ... Placed fifth in the decathlon with 6,112 points despite a "no height" in the pole vault ... Also finished third in the javelin with a throw of 199-0, then the third-best effort in UA history.
- Had the second-best distance on the team in the discus in 2008 (159-8).
- Earned Akron's Scholar Baller honor for posting at least a 3.0 GPA for the academic year.
at Indiana:
- Played one year of football (safety) for the Hoosiers. Saw action in three game prior to suffering an injury and redshirting.
at Beaver Local High School:
- Five-time high school All-American in the decathlon/pentathlon.
- 2005 Nike Indoor National Champion in the pentathlon.
- Six-time, top seven finisher at the Ohio Division II state championships. Seventh in the long jump as a sophomore (21-3); seventh in the 110mH (14.92) and fourth in the discus as a junior; and seventh in the 110mH (14.5), fourth in the discus (183-2) and fifth in the long jump (22-3). Won 11 conference titles, nine district championships and four regional titles.
- Set school records in 110mH (14.50), discus (183-2), 300mH (39.50) and long jump (22-3).
- Set state records for the decathlon (7,248), pentathlon (3,736), javelin (201-10) and discus record (168-0).
- Graduated valedictorian. Received Academic All-Ohio and Academic All-OVAC all four years. Also a member of the National Honors Society.
