as a Junior—Indoor /Senior—Outdoor (2008):

• Earned All-Americanhonors, placing eighth in the shot put (60-8) at the NCAA IndoorChampionships.

• Qualified for theNCAA Indoors, and was named MAC Field Performer of the Week, forhis winning throw and school-record 60-11.25 at the Hoosier HillsInvitational.

• Second team All-MACfor placing second in the shot put (58-0.50) at the MACIndoors.

• Earned All-Region,placing fourth in the discus at the NCAA Mideast Regional (184-4).Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships due to thatperformance. Fouled on his three attempts at nationals.

• Also qualified forthe NCAA Mideast Regional in the shot put with a distance of58-8.50, but he only competed in the discus at theregional.

• A second team All-MAChonoree, placing second in the discus (180-8). Added a third placefinish in the shot put at the MAC Outdoors with a distance of55-11.25.

• Earned Akron’sScholar Baller honor for posting at least a 3.0 GPA for theacademic year, getting Dean’s List recognition in the falland spring semesters.

• Won the discus threetimes during the outdoor season. Was tabbed MAC Field Performer ofthe Week for winning the discus by nine feet at the Florida Relays.Also won the discus at Northeast Ohio Quad and the All-OhioChampionships.

as a Junior—OutdoorOnly (2007):

• Redshirted during theindoor season due to injury.

• Named theteam’s Male MVP during the outdoor season.

• At the NCAA OutdoorChampionships, placed 15th in the discus and 24th in the shotput.

• Placed third at theNCAA Mideast Regional in the discus (180-2) to be named All-Regionand earn an automatic berth to the NCAA, while placing 12th in theshot (56-4.75) and getting an at-large berth to the outdoornationals.

• Earned second teamall-conference honors by placing second in the shot put (60-8.75)and discus (187-6) at the MAC Outdoors. Both those distances wereschool records. Also scored in the javelin at the MAC Outdoors,placing fifth (182-9).
