2015: Appeared in 13 contests for Akron registering two goals on nine shots, including six on frame...recorded game-winning tally in the 108th minute to lift Akron to a 3-2 double-overtime triumph at VCU (Aug. 28) in the season opener...tallied the Zips’ lone goal in a 4-1 setback at Old Dominion (Aug. 30) on the strength of a season-best four shots...an academic All-MAC honoree.
2014: Appeared in 18 matches, including one start registering three goals on 14 shots, with nine coming on goal...ranked third on the squad in goals and fifth in shots on goal...tallied first career goal in a 3-0 victory over Michigan...delivered game-winning goal in the Zips’ 2-1 triumph past Bowling Green in the championship match of the Mid-American Conference Tournament...also posted goal in a 4-0 win over Buffalo...recorded a career-best two shots against South Florida, Ohio State, Michigan and Bowling Green...in conference-only affairs, rated seventh in the league in goals (1) and goals per game (0.33).
PRIOR TO AKRON: Member of Portland Timbers Academy...appeared in three matches with the Timbers’ Under-23s during the 2013 PDL playoffs...played the final 20 minutes of an International friendly against Monarcas Morelia of Mexico in July 2014...made 14 appearances, including five starts, for the Timbers’ reserve club...led the Timbers’ Academy team in goals after bagging a trio of game winners in 26 appearances in 2012-13...helped lead Camas High School to the state 3A championship in 2011...2011 Oregon ODP team member...Region IV ODP team member in 2012...went to the same high school as fellow Zips and Timbers Academy member Niko De Vera.
PERSONAL: Born July 10, 1995...majoring in communications...son of Michael and Amy Macchione...father played forward for F.C. Portland, an independent U.S. soccer team, in 1988...grandfather was a collegiate soccer coach.
