As a Junior (2017): Named to the Academic All-MAC team and a CoSIDA Academic All-America nominee ... a two-year starter for the Zips at first base made 33 appearances and 30 starts in 2017 … Gillespie recorded a team-best .986 fielding percentage, that included 201 putouts, six assists, and just three errors … from the dish, she posted a .133 batting average, tallied eight hits, a double, home run, four RBI, and drew eight walks … at first base, she posted six games with at least 10 putouts, and recorded a season-high 12 putouts against North Carolina A&T … posted a four-game hit streak, recording a .571 batting average during the streak as well as three runs, an RBI and an extra-base hit.
As a Sophomore (2016): Academic All-MAC honoree ... started all 56 games at third base for the Zips and hit .293 … in 150 plate appearances, posted 44 hits and scored 19 runs … she drove in 12 runs and had a slugging percentage of .340… was hit by a team-high 17 pitches and second in on base percentage (.387)… recorded a five game hitting streak (Feb. 13-19), totaling seven hits, and one RBI.
As a Freshman (2015): Appeared in all 51 games for the Zips … recorded 359 putouts at first base … collected 17 hits on the year, including two doubles and drove in four runs.
High School: Four-time first-team All-Three Rivers Athletic Conference and four-time All-District selection ... four-time team MVP ... pitcher and first baseman from Notre Dame Academy ... finished prep career with a.425 batting average and a 39-16 record in the circle ... also had 30 home runs and 117 RBI at the plate ... helped team to three District championship appearances, winning the district in 2012, and the 2011 Toledo City League championship ... as a senior, had 38 hits, seven doubles, a triple, and seven home runs for 34 RBI ... also struck out 76 batters for a 12-6 record on the mound ... as a junior in 2013, named first-team All-District and ESPN Midwest Player of the Week ... had 36 hits, six double, five home runs, and 27 RBI ... as a sophomore, earned NFCA second-team All-Region honors.
