2016: Started all 22 games for the Zips and recorded four goals and three assists en route to being named a first-team All-MAC honoree…registered 21 shots from his defender’s position, including nine on goal and twice connected on game-winning goals…helped spark an Akron defensive unit post 11 shutouts on the campaign…part of defensive efforts resulting in shutout victories over No. 5 UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 12), No. 7 Georgetown (Aug. 26), No. 9 Seattle (Aug. 28) and in the NCAA Tournament against Villanova (Nov. 17)…netted game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over No. 7 Georgetown (Aug. 26)…assisted on Skye Harter’s game-winning tally in a 2-0 win against Oregon State (Sept. 9) and on the game-winner by Ezana Kahsay at Tulsa (Sept. 16)…netted goal in a 7-0 win at Northern Illinois (Oct. 15) and in a 3-1 setback against West Virginia (Oct. 22)…also collected assist on Nick Hinds’ goal in 2-0 victory at Ohio State…twice named by College Soccer News to its National Team of the Week (Aug. 29/Oct. 10)…honored by TopDrawerSoccer.com as a member of its National Team of the Week (Oct. 11)…Senior Class award semifinalist and member of the 2016 Akron Homecoming Court…ranked third in the MAC in game-winning goals (2) and eighth in goals (4) and points (11)…finished leading the MAC in league-only affairs in goals per game (0.60), while rating second in game-winning tallies (0.20) and points per game (1.20)…garnered Academic All-MAC accolades and was named a MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honoree…an Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association first-team All-Ohio award winner...MAC All-Tournament selection.
2015: Started all 24 games for the Zips and helped anchor an Akron defensive unit that posted nine shutouts, including four against conference opponents en route to being named a first-team All-MAC performer...registered a pair of goals on 18 shots, including five on net...posted six games with two or more shots from his defenders’ slot...recorded a season-best four shots, including netting a goal in Akron’s 2-1 regular season triumph at Buffalo (Oct. 9)...notched game-winning goal in a 2-0 regular season victory past West Virginia (Otc. 28)...recorded two shots apiece versus No. 23 Rutgers (Nov. 22) and No. 11 SMU (Nov. 29) in the NCAA Tournament second and third round, respectively...posted one shot in Akron’s 3-2 double-overtime win against No. 3 Creighton (Dec. 5) in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament...a MAC Distinguished Scholar and academic All-MAC honoree...a first-team All-Ohio recipient.
2014: Started 19 of the 21 matches in which he appeared registering a goal on 10 shots, including two on goal...selected as an Academic All-MAC recipient...recorded first career goal in a 2-0 victory past Hartford...posted a season-best two shots in wins over Hartford and Buffalo...helped spark the Zips to seven shutouts, including a pair in league play.
2013: Appeared in three matches, logging a total of 82 minutes...earned a start in a 1-0 win at West Virginia (Sept. 29)...also saw action in both of UA’s MAC Tournament games against West Virginia (Nov. 15) and Western Michigan (Nov. 17).
2012: Redshirted campaign.
PRIOR TO AKRON: Was a two-time all-district honoree and two-year team captain at Copley HS...led the Indians to a district and regional championship and the state semifinals as a senior.
PERSONAL: Born Sept. 17, 1994...majoring in mechanical engineering…son of Bill Ruhaak and Jodi Harelson.
