Prior to Akron
• Did not start running until her junior year at Euclid High School
• Was the district champion in the 4X800m relay, 1600m, 800m and 4X400m
• Was the regional champion in the 1600m
• Placed fifth in the 1600m at the state meet
• Was named the Plain Dealer Athlete of the Week, McDonalds Athlete of the Week and the recipient of the Wendy's Heisman award as a senior at Euclid High School
• Also played basketball and was a team captain
