Alesha Vovk is in her second year serving as a volunteer assistant coach with the Akron Cross Country and Track & Field programs. She works primarily with the middle distance and distance runners.
Competing for Miami University from 2014 – 2018, Vovk finished her college running career as the second-fastest miler in Miami program school history. A multiple Academic All-MAC selection, she registered a trio of second-place finishes at the MAC Championships during her career, including; the 2016 distance medley relay, 2017 in the 1,500 meters, and 2018 in the steeplechase.
Vovk qualified for the 2018 NCAA East Regional Championships in the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:15.06.
A graduate from St. Joseph Academy in Lakewood, Ohio, Vovk is working towards a master’s degree in physical therapy and training towards the 2020 USA Olympic Trials
