as a Junior (2008): Started 13 games for the Zips all as the No. 1 and led the UA pitching staff with a team-best 6-3 record and ERA of 4.62...Led several pitching categories on the year including 78.0 innings pitched and batters faced with 307 at-bats while allowing the fewest earned runs among starting pitchers (40)...The junior right-hander kept the opposition at bay amassing 51 strikeouts (1st) and held opposing batters to a team-low .274 batting average...Pitched a complete game for a 15-7 win over Kent State at Lee Jackson Field (May 9)...Threw first win of the season in the Zips season opener 5-1 victory over West Virginia (February 22)...Served as one of three team representatives on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)...Named tri-captain along with fellow junior Ben Savage and senior Doug McNulty.
as a Sophomore (2007): Appeared in 14 games, making 12 starts ... two-time Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week (May 20, Apr. 2) ... tied for staff lead with two complete games and one shutout ... paced Zips' hurlers with four wins, 79.0 innings pitched and a 5.47 ERA ... threw the first complete-game shutout of his career in a 5-0 win over Northern Illinois (Mar. 31) while striking out seven and allowing just seven hits ... went the distance in a 2-1 victory at Miami (May 17) while holding the RedHawks to just four hits and striking out five ... fanned seven batters in 4.1 innings in a losing effort at Buffalo (Apr. 28) ... picked up the win at Bowling Green (Apr. 21) in a 7-3 decision while allowing three runs in 7.1 frames ... also threw four combined scoreless innings in a pair of relief appearances at Pittsburgh (Apr. 10) and at Ohio State (May 2) ... earned the win in a start against Ohio (May 5), allowing five runs in 7.0 innings in a 15-7 decision.
