Sophomore quarterback Thomas Woodson (Monroeville, Pa.) was selected as the Zips' Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by The University of Akron, Ohio's Polytechnic University.
Woodson, who received the starting nod In Akron's 35-14 win at Louisiana, rushed for a 14-yard touchdown in the second quarter. The TD was his second this season. He finished the game at 13-of-29 for 238 yards and a career-best two touchdowns. His 72-yard TD pass to Jerome Lane was a career-long. He was also the Zips' leading rusher, finishing with a career-high 93 yards and a TD on eight carries.
Woodson was also named the College Sports Madness MAC Offensive Player of the Week.
