AKRON, Ohio-- Sophomore quarterback Thomas Woodson (Monroeville, Pa.) was named the Zips' Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by The University of Akron, Ohio's Polytechnic University.
In the MAC win at Eastern Michigan, Woodson guided the Zips to their first MAC win (and second consecutive road win) at Eastern Michigan. He went 14-of-22 for 222 yards and a career-high four touchdown passes (all in the first half). Woodson also rushed for 72 yards.
After six games, Woodson is 57-of-110 for 898 yards and seven touchdowns.
The honor is the second for Woodson this fall. He also earned the SAOW honors on Sept. 28.
Akron (3-3, 1-1 MAC) travels to Bowling Green (4-2, 2-0) on Saturday, Oct. 17, for a 3 p.m. game. ESPN3 will broadcast the game online.
