ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Jack Roman's goal scored in the 84th minute helped the Akron men's soccer team power past Saint Louis, 2-1, on the road in a rematch from last season's NCAA Quarterfinal.

Roman received a pass from Thomas O'Rourke in the box that he buried cleanly after he was left all alone. It was all made possible after a long and high goal kick that Brett Kaminski booted and O'Rourke gathered before passing to Roman.

With 40 seconds left, Saint Louis attempted a penalty kick that was saved by Kaminski to seal the victory.

The Billikens struck first in the 22nd minute of the opening half, while Akron answered back 16 minutes later on a Noa Testa goal from Farrel Ngongang.

Saint Louis outshot the Zips, 9-5, while Kaminski made two saves in net — both of which came in the final minute of the match.
