MUNCIE, Ind. - Brady Bowen dealt 8.2 innings while racking up an RBI double in a 3-2 loss to the Ball State Cardinals on Saturday.

Brady Bowen (2-2) started and took the loss on the mound for Akron (14-20, 5-12). The right-hander went 8.2 innings, giving up three runs, zero earned, on three hits, allowing one walk and striking out seven. He also went 1-for-3 on the day at the plate, driving in a run on a double. Kyle McConachie went 1-for-3 with a home run, while Blake Bowen hit a double in a 1-for-3 performance.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Zips were trailing 1-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Blake Bowen came across to score the lone run of the inning for Akron and get them on the board.

The score stayed at 1-1 until the sixth inning, when the Zips put runs on the scoreboard once again. Kyle McConachie came across to score the lone run of the inning for Akron, which brought the score to 2-1 in favor of the Zips. The Zips were unable to hold the lead, as Ball State scored two times over the remaining three innings to grab the 3-2 win.
