Hezri and Chandra Mohan Leads Akron, Zips Seventh Overall at the Chris Banister Golf Classic

Shannon, Ala. – Maisarah Hezri and Sohniya Chandra Mohan led the Akron Zips golf team through the second round of the 2026 Chris Banister Golf Classic as both golfers posted 2-over par 74 scores.
The Zips recorded a 312 (+24) second 18-hole round team score to go along with an opening round 308 (+20) for a 620 (+44) tournament total, The Zips currently rank seventh overall on the team leaderboard.
Hezri was nearly flawless for 18-holes the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Silver Lakes (Par 72 • 6,214 yards) as she carded 16 par scores with two bogeys for the 2-over ledger. Hezri played the entire back-9 with an even-par score. The 74-stroke effort elevated her three spots on the leaderboard, ranking ninth overall with a 74-74- 148 (+4) tournament total. In addition, Hezri is tied for ninth with 24 total par scores and ranks tied for second in Par 3 scoring (2.88) and tied for fourth in par 4 scoring (4.05).
Chandra Mohan followed with a 74 (+2) second round score, bringing her 36-hole total to 76-74 – 150 (+6). She posted 13 par scores with a pair of birdies to bring her tournament total to 25 par scores and four birdies. She is tied for fifth in par scoring and ranks seventh in par 3 scoring (3.00). Chandra Mohan climbed 10 spots on the leaderboard to 11th overall.
The final round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic is scheduled for a 9:30 start as the Zips play from the No. 1 tee box. Emily Liptak will lead the way at 9:30 a.m. followed by Na Songkhla (9:39), Kormuth (9:48), Chandra Mohan (9:57) and Hezri (10:06).
