Zips Finish the Chris Banister Golf Classic 11th Overall, Hezri Lands in Top 10

Shannon, Ala. – The Akron Zips golf team fired a 321 (+33) final round team score at the 2026 Chris Banister Golf Classic en route to an 11th place finish with a 308-312-321 – 941 (+77) on Tuesday.
Maisarah Hezri led the Zips scoring in all three 18-hole rounds, posting a 75 (+3) final round total. She climbed two spots on the players' leaderboard to finish seventh overall with a 74-74-75 – 223 (+7) total. Hezri carded 13 par scores and a birdie and finished the 54-hole event at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Silver Lakes (Par 72 • 6,214 yards). Hezri tied for sisxth with 37 total par scores and ranked fourth in Par 3 scoring (3.00) and tied for fifth in par 4 scoring (4.07).
Sohniya Chandra Mohan was second in scoring for Akron, finishing 23 overall on the players' leaderboard with a 76-74-80 - 230 (+14) tally. She posted 13 par scores during the final 18-hole round and generated 38 par scores, finishing tied for third overall. She also finished tied for fifth in par 3 scoring (3.08).
Goethe Na Songkhla (+29, 245), Kaitlin Kormuth (+35, 251) and Emily Liptak (+39, 255) rounded out the Zips scoring.
Akron will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, March 30-31 at the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky at the University Club at Arlington.
