Zips Have Strong Showings at OSU Winter Invite and Clarion Last Chance Invite

The University of Akron swim and dive teams competed on Saturday, February 14 at the OSU Winter Invite and Clarion Last Chance Invite.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Akron women delivered a statement performance Saturday night at the Ohio State Winter Invite, highlighted by a relay victory and a dominant showing in the sprint freestyle events.
Akron opened the evening by winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1 minute, 38.19 seconds. The team of Abbey Cronin, Claire Cox, Felicia Klintemar and Ada Szwabinska combined for the top finish in the finals session, edging the field to give the Zips an early boost.
In the 50 freestyle, the Zips put two swimmers atop the leaderboard. Callie Parkes won the event in 22.64 seconds, while Brienne Trumpower placed second in 23.65.
CLARION, Pa. - The Akron diving team had a strong showing at the Clarion Last Chance Diving Invite.
Elizabeth Noble claimed the top spot in both the 1 and 3 meter diving events. Noble took the 1-meter crown with a score of 294.00 and 3-meter title with a score of 287.85. Lydia Redd took second in both events with a score of 281 in the 1-meter and 250 in the 3-meter.

Akron returns to action when it hosts the 2026 Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium from Feb. 25-28.
