Zips Compete in Pair of Events Before MAC Championship

AKRON, Ohio - The Akron swim and dive team will compete in a pair of events this weekend. The Zips swimming squad will head to Columbus, Ohio, to compete in the Ohio State Winter Invite from Feb. 13-15, while the diving team will head to Clarion, Pa., to battle in the Clarion Last Chance Invite on Feb. 14.

Prelims at Ohio State will begin at 11:00 a.m. each day. Finals will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Along with the Zips, Ohio State, Cleveland State, Illinois State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Purdue, Texas and Youngstown State will be at the invite. Diving events at Clarion are set to begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
The Zips recently took down Ohio over a two-day dual meet, capturing a 239-171 in the final home meet of the season.
Akron will next be in action when it hosts the Mid-American Conference Championships at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium from February 25-28.
