AKRON, Ohio -Â The 15th-rated University of Akron rifle team visits Lexington, Ky., for a 9:00 a.m. showdown with No. 1 Kentucky on Saturday (Jan. 31).
Senior Natalia Siek (Flemington, N.J.) maintains team-high averages of 1178.70, 587.40 and 591.30, respectively, in the combined, smallbore and air rifles. Senior Rachael Paddock (Perry, N.Y.) ranks second in the combined (1170.80) and smallbore (582.0) and is tied for second in the air rifle (588.80) along with freshman Matthew Kimball (Pineville, La.) (588.80) and and senior Joey Hahn (Middle Grove, N.Y.) (588.80). Kimball is rated third in the combined (1169.60) and in the smallbore (580.80).
Accompanying Hahn, Kimball, Paddock and Siek to Lexington are teammates junior Diane Heschel (Oak Harbor, Ohio), redshirt senior Sally Reeke (Clifton, Va.) and junior Kaleb Santiso (Ridgway, Pa.) to compete for the Zips against the Wildcats.
After Saturday's match, Akron Rifle will travel to Cambridge, Mass., to battle No. 28 MIT and No. 29 Norwich on February 7.
