Akron Finishes Third at the Tim Welsh Classic

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Akron swimming and diving team concluded action at the Tim Welsh Classic with a third-place finish.
Notre Dame took first with 1,114.5 points, Illinois finished second with 886, while Akron took third with 824.
Elizabeth Noble led the Blue and Gold in the 1-meter dive with a NCAA Zone Qualifying score score of 278.80 and a fourth-place finish. She also led the Zips in the 3-meter dive with a NCAA Zone Qualifying score of 300.40 and a third-place finish.
Elle Couture took fourth in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:06.35, while Martyna Piesko claimed first in the 200 Back with a time of 1:55.90.
The 100 Free saw Ada Szwabinska clocked the second fastest time with a finish of 49.65.
Madelyn Bosler led the Blue and Gold in the 200 Breast with a third-place finish and a time of 2:14.76, while Addy Soehnlen took fourth in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:01.36.
Akron concluded action with a second-place finish in the 400 FR as Helena Lalkovic, Callie Parkes, Piesko and Szwabinska finished with a time of 3:20.42.

Akron returns to Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium for a two-day dual meet with Ohio, starting on Friday, January 30.
