Zips Climb Leaderboard During Final Round, Hezri, Vora Card Even-Par Scores

State College, Pa. – The Akron Zips golf team finished the Nittany Lion Invitational on a high note, climbing six spots on the team leaderboard during the final 18 holes of play as Maisarah Hezri led the way in scoring on Monday afternoon.
The Zips fired a season low 18-hole round score of 4-over par 292 strokes as Hezri and Hridhika Vora posted even-par 72 totals at the 6,363-yard, par-72 Penn State Blue Course.
Hezri finished tied for 11th overall for the tournament, moving up nine spots on the final day of competition with the even-par scorecard. She posted a 75 (+3) opening round 18-hole score and followed with a 1-over par 73 effort to finish day one with a 148 (+4) total. The even-par ledger moved her 54-hole tournament score to 4-over par 220. Hezri collected 38 par scores and seven birdies throughout three 18-hole rounds of play.
Vora posted the second even-par performance of the day and finished the two-day tournament with scores 80-77-72 - 229 (+13), finishing tied for 41st overall. Vora recorded 34 par scores and five birdies, including four birdies during the final round to climb 19 spots on the leaderboard.
Coming in second in overall scoring for the Zips was Sohniya Chandra Mohan with a 224 (+8) tournament total. Chandra Mohan opened the 54-hole event with a 2-over par 74 and followed with a 5-over par 77 tally on the second 18-hole round of day one. On the final day of competition, Chandra Mohan posted a 1-over par 73 score to finish tied for 28th overall. She posted 30 par scores and a team-best eight birdies.
Emily Liptak and Goethe Na Songkhla rounded out the Zips scoring with 233 (+17) and 235 (+19) tournament totals for 54 holes of competition.
