Akron Third Overall, Hezri Runner-up Entering Final Round at Butler Fall Invitational

Indianapolis, Ind. -- The Akron Zips golf team ranks third overall after 36 holes of play at the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Country Club (Par 70, 6,040 yards) as Maisarah Hezri fired a 141 (+1) to lead the Zips.

As a team, Akron posted scores of 289 (+9) and 296 (+16) for a 581 (+25) tournament total after two 18-hole rounds on Monday.

Hezri led the squad with an opening round 1-under par 69 performance, carding 13 par scores, three birdies and a pair of bogeys. She followed that performance with a 2-over par effort, registering 14 pars, three bogeys and a birdie. She is currently ranked second overall on the players' leaderboard with a 141 (+1) ledger and 18 holes to play.

Two additional Akron golfers also rank inside the Top 20 as Sohniya Chandra Mohan and
Kaitlin Kormuth recorded 8-over 148 tallies. Chandra Mohan opened the 36-hole day with a 2-over par 72 and followed with a 76 (+8), while Kormuth carded a pair of 4-over par 74 scores.

Goethe Na Songkhla and Hridhika Vora followed in scoring for the Zips and are tied at 27^th overall with 150 (+10) scores. Na Songkhla fired a 2-over par 72 in the opening round and followed with a 78 (+8) tally, while Vora collected 76 (+6) and 74 (+4) scores.

Rounding out the scoring for Akron was Emily Liptak with a 80-74 – 154 (+14) total.
