RALEIGH, N.C. - University of Akron freshman Bismack Kipchirchir (Eldama Ravine, Kenya) ran a school-record time of 8:37.85 in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase to highlight the efforts of the Zips' track and field team at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday (March 28).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Kipchirchir's performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase represents the fastest time by a Mid-American Conference runner since at least 2012.
• Sophomore Titus Kirui (Eldoret, Kenya) posted a time of 14:27.68 in the men's 5,000 meters.
