Akron Trio Garners TDS Midseason Top 100 Accolades

AKRON, Ohio - University of Akron men's soccer redshirt senior Mitch Budler (Lincoln, Neb.), sophomore Jack Roman (Canfield, Ohio) and freshman Jose Pedro (Porto, Portugal) were recognized for their stellar campaigns when TopDrawerSoccer.com named its 2025 Men's National Top 100 Midseason Upperclassmen and Freshmen lists.

Budler and Roman were tabbed No. 36 and No. 71, respectively, on the midseason ranking, while Pedro was rated No. 11 on the freshmen list.

Budler, who was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, has started all 14 games for the Zips this season in goal en route to registering 30 saves and owning a 0.64 goals against average on the strength of recording an NCAA-best nine shutouts. He is rated first in the NCAA in shutouts (9) and 17th in the nation in goalie minutes played (1,260:00) and in goals against average (0.643).

Starting all 14 matches for Akron this fall, Roman has tallied a team-leading five goals, including two game-winners, while ranking second on the squad in assists (4), points (14), shots (34) and shots on goal (10).

Pedro has garnered the starting assignment 14 times this season and has garnered four assists on the strength of 10 shots, including two on net, while helping Akron's defensive efforts to nine shutouts, the fourth-highest team total in the NCAA in 2025.
