SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The 24th University of Akron men's soccer team played Seton Hall to a 1-1 draw on the road on Friday (Oct. 17).
How it Happened
Akron started the scoring when sophomore Remi Agunbiade (Toronto, Ontario) notched his fourth goal of the season in the seventh minute (6:05), assisted by seniors Stefan Dobrijevic (Uniontown, Ohio) and Ashton Kamdem (West Chester, Ohio). The assist was Dobrijevic's league leading eighth of the season.
The Pirates responded to tie things up on a goal from Mikkel Lejbowicz in the 39th minute (38:23). The tally was initially ruled on the field as an offsides call before the officials reversed the call after a VAR review.
Akron had scoring chances in the second half, but the Zips were unable to net the go-ahead tally.
Game Notes
- Redshirt senior GK Mitch Budler (Lincoln, Neb.) piled up one save for the Zips out of eight total Pirates shots.
- Akron recorded an 11-8 edges in shots on the evening, including a 3-2 margin in shots on goal.
- Sophomore Jack Roman (Canfield, Ohio) registered a game-high four shots, while Agunbiade, Dobrijevic and freshman Jose Pedro (Porto, Portugal) each tallied a pair of shots.
