Akron Picked to Finish First in the 2025-26 MAC Swimming and Diving Preseason Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Akron Zips Swimming & Diving team was predicted to finish first in the 2025-26 Preseason Swimming & Diving Coaches Poll, the conference office announced Wednesday, October 1.
Akron earned eight of the nine possible first-place votes and earned 64 points. Miami took the last first-place vote and finished with 53 points to tie with Ohio for second.
The Zips are coming off their fourth consecutive MAC Championship and the 11th in the past 12 seasons after taking gold at the 2025 MAC Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., in March. The Blue and Gold also took home first-place at the CSCAA National Championships in Ocala, Fla.
Akron will begin the 2025-26 season by hosting the Zips Classic at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium from October 10-11.
The Zips will host the 2026 MAC Swimming & Diving Championship on Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 25-25 at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium.
