Hezri Leads Akron at Nittany Lion Invitational

State College, Pa. – Akron junior Maisarah Hezri led the Zips scoring efforts at the 2024 Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State, finishing the 54-hole tournament with a 231 (+15) ledger and placing 45th overall.
As a team, Akron fired a 925 (+61) at the at the Penn State Blue Course (Par 72, 6,423 yards) on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14-15.
Hezri opened the 36-hole day with a 73 (+1) showing and followed with an 80 (+8) score to enter the final round with a 153 (+9) tally. She carded a 6-over par final round 78 to finish the tournament with a 231 (+15) total.
Juniors Avery Wright and Emily Liptak followed in scoring for Akron with 233 (+17) and 234 (+18) scores, respectively. Wright finished 50th overall, while Liptak ranked 56th.
Junior Hridika Vora and freshman Sohniya Chandra Mohan rounded out the team scoring with 235 (+19) and 239 (+23) scores, while Katrin Horn Danielsdottir posted a 249 (+33) ledger as an individual.
The Zips will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, Sept 30- Oct. 1 at the Rocket Classic hosted by Toledo at Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio.
