2024 AKRON MEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE
AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron men's soccer team unveiled a challenging 2024 fall schedule, one that will see the Zips face five opponents from the 2023 NCAA Tournament field, 12th-year head coach Jared Embick announced today.
In 2024, the Zips' 13-match season-ticket package features trips to FirstEnergy Stadium from NCAA Tournament participants Pittsburgh and Xavier.

Akron is set to return six starters in 2024, including 2023 All-BIG EAST Conference performers, seniors Jonas Buechte (Rantigen, Germany) and Malik Henry (Hamilton, Ontario).
The Zips will also be bolstered by the return of key 2023 contributors in redshirt junior Mitch Budler (Lincoln, Neb.), redshirt senior Dyson Clapier (Layton, Utah), juniors Stefan Dobrijevic, Ashton Kamdem (West Chester, Ohio) and Daragh Reilly (Meath, Ireland) and senior Wan Kuzri Wan Kamal (Carbondale, Ill.).

The Zips take to the pitch for the initial time on Aug. 11 when Akron hosts Michigan at FirstEnergy Stadium in the first of two exhibition matches before battling Pittsburgh (Aug. 16) to round out the exhibition campaign.
Akron will kick off its 70th season of intercollegiate men's soccer traveling to 2024 NCAA College Cup finalist Notre Dame (Aug. 22) for a non-conference showdown with the Fighting Irish. The home opener for the Zips will see Akron battle Ohio State (Aug. 25) before the Zips close the month with a road tilt at 2023 NCAA Tournament participant Western Michigan (Aug. 30).
The month of September includes home contests versus Cleveland State (Sept. 2), VCU (Sept. 6), IU Indianapolis (Sept. 9) and Temple (Sept. 14), as well as Akron's BIG EAST Conference opener against Butler (Sept. 20). Additionally, the Zips will host Saint Francis (Sept. 24), before closing the month with a marquee tilt at Georgetown (Sept 28), a 2023 NCAA Tournament squad and No. 4 national seed.

The Zips face a challenging month of October as Akron opens play hosting 2023 NCAA Tournament participant Xavier (Oct. 4), along with Wright State (Oct. 8) and Villanova (Oct. 12). Three of the Zips final four league contests will be on the road with Akron traveling to DePaul (Oct. 19), Marquette (Oct. 26) and Connecticut (Nov. 2). The Zips home finale will be a showdown with Creighton (Oct. 23).

The conference tournament is scheduled to begin on Nov. 9 at campus sites before the semifinal and championship matches are held Nov. 14 and Nov. 17, respectively, at Maryland Soccer Plex in Boyds, Maryland.

The NCAA Men's Soccer Championship play is set to commence on Nov. 21 and will culminate Dec. 13-16 at the College Cup in Cary, N.C.
