Akron Soccer Recognized by United Soccer Coaches as 2022-23 Collegiate Team Academic Award Recipients

2022-23 UNITED SOCCER COACHES COLLEGE TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD WINNERS RELEASE
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Akron was one of 179 schools nationwide to have its men's and women's soccer teams recognized by the United Soccer Coaches as 2022-23 Collegiate Team Academic Award winners.
Recognized for the 13th year in a row, the Zips' women's squad led by second-year head coach Jen Simonetti posted a 3.43 GPA this past academic year.

The Akron men's team under 11th-year head coach Jared Embick was recognized for the 16th consecutive year and 17th time overall after registering a cumulative 3.01 grade point average for the 2022-23 academic year.
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
