JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Akron Track and Field program saw a trio of Zips eye qualifying marks on the second day of the NCAA East Preliminary Round Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of North Florida on Thursday, May 25.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Redshirt junior Laurel Bristow (Pittsburgh, Pa.) came up just shy of a season-best mark in the women's javelin registering a throw of 147-4 (44.92m).
• Sophomore Brynn Rychlik (Marysville, Ohio) eclipsed 12-6.25 (3.82m) in qualifying competition for the semifinal round of the women's pole vault.
• Senior Amya Clarke (Christ Church, St. Kitts and Nevis) culminated her decorated Akron career crossing the line in 23.71 in the opening round of the women's 200 meters.
