Strong Performances Highlight Day Two of Stan Romanoski Open

STAN ROMANOSKI OPEN: FINAL RESULTS | MEET INFORMATION | LIVE STATS
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's and women's track and field team garnered six victories as part of 13 overall top-three performances on the final day of the Stan Romanoski Open hosted by West Virginia on Saturday, March 18.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Zips posted 17 career-best marks on the day.
• Redshirt junior Kyle Stober (Mogadore, Ohio) captured the men's 5,000 meters in a career-best time of 15.22.37.
• Redshirt junior Laurel Bristow (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won the women's javelin with a throw of 125-11 (38.37m).
• Sophomore Oscar Prieto (Barcelona, Spain) and redshirt junior Robert Artrip (Independence, Ohio) finished 1-2 in the men's pole vault eclipsing 17-0.75 (5.20m) and 16-0.75 (4.90m).
• Sophomores Brynn Rychlik (Marysville, Ohio) and Cassidy Allen (Lakewood, N.Y.) took the top-two places in the women's pole vault besting the bar at 11-11.75 (3.65m) and 11-5.75 (3.50m).
• Freshman Josiah Cox (New Franklin, Ohio) bested the field in the men's shot put with a career-best mark of 52-2.50 (15.99m).
• Sophomore Halle Sebest (Poland, Ohio) crossed the line second in the women's 5,000 meters in a career-best time of 18:18.64.
