AKRON, Ohio – The Akron fired back-to-back 303 team totals to open the spring portion of the schedule on Monday, Feb. 6 at the 2023 Falcon Florida Classic hosted by Bowling Green.

Akron enters the final round of play ranked 10^th overall at 6,068-yard par 72 course Lakewood Ranch Royal Lakes Golf Course as Abbi Fleiner led the squads scoring efforts through 36-holes. Fleiner registered a 77 (+5) opening round and countered with a 1-under par 71 for a 148 tally. , Teammate, Hridhika Vora also carded a 148-stroke total on rounds of 73 (+1) and 75 (+3) while competing as an individual. Both players are tied for 24^th overall with the 4-over par ledgers.

Supporting the Zips scoring efforts were Jessica Hahn (t-41^st, +8, 75-77 – 152), Jacinta Pikunas (t-44^th, +9 77-76 – 153), Daphne van Son (t-49^th, +10 7-80 – 154) and Avery Wright (t-56, +12 77-79 - 156).

The final round is scheduled to begin around 11 a.m. as the Zips are slated to tee-off from hole No. 10 with Vora leading the way at 10:48 a.m. followed by Wright (10:56), van Son (11:04), Pikunas (11:12), Hahn (11:20) and Fleiner (11:28).

Northern Illinois leads the team scoring after firing a 284 and 280 for a 564 (-12) team total. Idaho and Toledo own second (-5, 571) and third (+2, 578).
