Abigail Daniel Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - On Wednesday the Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced the first women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards of the season. Akron junior swimmer Abigail Daniel was named Swimmer of the Week for her efforts at the Akron Zips Classic this past weekend.
Daniel was a key component for the Zips in the sprint based races on their way to dominating the Akron Zips Classic. She finished first in three individual events - the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.01, the 100 yard butterfly with a mark of 53.36, and the 100 yard freestyle touching the wall at 50.12. She also swam in five relay races for Akron, four of which came in first place in the meet (the 400-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle relay, the 200-yard medley relay, and the 400-yard freestyle relay). She swam the first leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay that came in second place.
