Akron Hosts Baldwin Wallace and Mount Union for Double Dual Meet on Senior Night

What's Ahead
The Akron Zips swimming and diving team hosts Baldwin Wallace and Mount Union for a double dual meet on senior night at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium on Friday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. Prior to the meet the swimming and diving program will recognize the 2023 graduating senior class.

Baldwin Wallace
Baldwin Wallace is 8-2 in dual meets this season, defeating Wilmington, Bluffton, Franciscan, Hiram, Buffalo State, Ohio Wesleyan and Malone while falling to Mount Union and Wooster.

Mount Union
The Purple Raiders are 3-2 in dual meets this season , defeating Oberlin, Baldwin Wallace and Ohio Northern while falling to Wooster and John Carroll.

About the Zips
Akron is 3-1 overall in dual meets with wins against MAC foes Buffalo (165-134), Ball State (159-138) and Bowling Green (184-76) falling to Ohio State (71-224). In addition, the Zips won three invites including the Akron Zips Classic, Magnus Cup Invitational, and the Zippy Invitational. Junior Madelyn Gatrall was named Mid-American Conference women's swimmer of the week after a phenomenal showing at the 2022 Zippy Invitational. During the four-day meet, Gatrall won eight events including three individual events and five relays while achieving two NCAA B-Cut times and setting a new Mid-American Conference record.
