AKRON, Ohio -Â The University of Akron lacrosse team closes out the road portion of its 2022 campaign traveling to battle league-leading Robert Morris in a 12 p.m. Mid-American Conference tilt on Saturday, April 16 in Moon Township, Pa.

SCOUTING AKRON:
Junior Alexis Kiefer (West Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa.), who own 83 and 75 shots, respectively, headline Akron's offensive efforts this season. Kiefer, Boyd, junior Kaija Kunttu (Zionsville, Ind.), sophomore Anjali Silverheels (Hamburg, N.Y.) and freshman Izzy Szejk (Camp Hill, Pa.) own a team-high 30, 24, 13, 11 and nine goals, respectively, while Boyd has registered team-best marks in goals (30), assists (5), points (35), shots on goal (62), draw controls (104) and ground balls (36), while ranking second in assists (5) and shots (75). Sophomore GK Ashley Lapp (Missouri City, Texas) has turned in 111 saves for Akron on the year.

Boyd rates first in the MAC in draw controls (104) and draw controls per match (7.43), second in ground balls (36) and ground balls per outing (2.57), fifth in goals (30) and shots (75), sixth shots per contest (5.36) and eighth in goals per game (2.14). Kiefer is ranked third in shots (83) and shots per tilt (5.93). Lapp ranks second in the conference in saves (111), third in goals against average (12.53), ground balls (33), ground balls per outing (2.36) and save percentage (.432) and fourth in saves per game (7.93).

Additionally, junior Abby McMullen is rated third in the league in caused turnovers (19) and caused turnover per outing (1.50), fourth in ground balls (32) and ground balls per tilt (2.29*), seventh in draw controls (44) and eighth in draw controls per match (3.14), while junior Jenna Ridener (Cincinnati, Ohio) rates third in caused turnovers (21) and caused turnover per outing (1.50), seventh in ground balls (26) and eighth ground balls per match (1.86). Junior Julia Frombach (Avon, Ohio) is ranked fifth in caused turnovers (20) and caused turnovers per match (1.43) and seventh in ground balls (26), while sophomore Mackenzie Kirwan (Appleton, Wis.) rates sixth in caused turnover per outing (1.29), seventh in ground balls per game (2.00) and 10th in caused turnovers (9) and ground balls (14).

Akron is meeting Robert Morris for the fifth time in program history with the Zips trailing the all-time series, 4-0. The Colonials are 7-6 on the campaign, including a perfect 7-0 mark in league play, following a 15-6 triumph past Kent State on Saturday, April 9. Freshman Jenna Irwin directs the Robert Morris offensive attack with team-high marks in goals (29), points (33), while ranking second in shots (55) and shots on goal (44) and fourth in ground balls (16) and caused turnovers (8). Senior GK Jamie Keller has collected 106 saves on the campaign for the Colonials. Robert Morris is led by fifth-year head coach Katrina Silva, who owns a 47-25 ledger as a head coach and is 173-140 in her 19th overall campaign as a head coach.
